What is Marketing?
Marketing is the process of exploring, creating, and delivering value to meet the needs of a target market in terms of goods and services. This includes selecting an audience; selecting a theme or attributes to emphasize in advertising; operating campaigns; attending trade shows and public events; designing products attractive to buyers; defining the terms of sale, such as price, discounts, warranty and return policy; product placement with people or media believed to influence buying habits; agreements with resellers; and creating awareness of, loyalty to and positive feelings about a brand.

for a target market or customer. The practice of marketing is the process by
which products and services move from concept to the customer. Marketing covers
a lot more than just advertising. It includes analyzing customer needs,
identifying target markets, estimating demand for product and services,
financing marketing activities, and controlling distribution. The overall goal
of marketing is to satisfy customer needs and wants better than competitors do.
Marketing is an established discipline in the business world and major field of
study in business, government and public policy schools. Marketing deals with
finding out what customers want and needs, evaluating how ready they are to
buy, determining what product characteristics will satisfy them and deciding
how to price the goods or services offered.
